The Sky High Walk

There are two mountain hikes from Contro or from Tenero that lead up into the mountains above Locarno, to Orselina and to the Trinità mountains, which is where one can also visit the famous church of the Madonna del Sasso. There is a spectacular view from there over the delta of the Maggia River, over Ascona and the Brissago islands. You can make it back to Locarno on foot, down the stairway or by cableway car leaving about every half hour.
